There is a lord.
There is his fief.
There is a siege mounted on the country.
The lord can only watch from his tower window,
the steps his general takes, step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step.
The lord can no longer see his general, with fog hiding the true events of the battle.
He retreats back to his desk, and reads reports, checking details, doing other logistical work.
Whenever his other generals walk in to report, to check on him, he is always busy doing work.
Fine, it seems, and he is.
But whenever one of his generals leave again, he stares into the distance, thinking.
He stares out of the window, then calls for a messenger.
The messenger nods, then runs off.
The messenger is back again, very quickly, with the news that the battle did not end on schedule.
The lord drums his fingers on the table.
Our of boredom, he goes on patrol around the castle, around his tower.
Pacing up and down restlessly.
He meets another messenger, then goes back to his room to await the news.
The stack of things he completed during his wait is mounting, yet the messenger has not yet arrived.
The boy finally reaches, and apologises that he was not able to see past the fog, no matter what. There was no reply to his calls.
All that waiting for nothing.
The lord decides to not wait further, and contacts another general.
The general confirms that the battle is over, and the first general had already been carried back to the tower, injured but alive.
The general is vague about the details, so the lord decides to find them himself.
He finishes up on his work and calls down to the generals gathered below his window.
From so high above, he finds that he is completely useless, completely unable to help.
It seems that the battle was won.
The knight general was injured, but he will heal.
The other generals shoo him away, saying they'll be able to manage.
He is unable to offer even comforting words, since his voice was muffled by distance.
The lord nods at the news, then returns back to the stack of urgent work to be done.
The fact that he cannot be there all the time, for his trusted friend and general, hits hard.
But it is brushed away.
The rest will be able to support him just as well as the lord would have been able to.
For now, he will support whenever he can, however he can.
Two days have passed.
Generals knock at his door.
He stares at it.
He walks to the door and tries its lock.
The door opens.
"Let's go."

Siege and Lord
Let's Do War.
The first battle decides all.
The chosen battle cry is a whisper.
And only one steps onto the battlefield.
